The Practice of Gesture of Awareness
Being present requires that consciousness not be lost in the world of objects or in interaction with other people, but that it comes back to itself. A state of sheer presence reveals itself in the deconstruction of any activity, since every attempt to improve on experience involves a slipping away from the present moment. Thus, whatever happens is left simply as it is, without trying to hang onto it, reject it, or even label it. The practice of Gesture of Awareness is not contingent upon personal history or background. Awakened to the immediacy of the instant, without any judgment, one can open to a global experiencing of one’s own being.
